TITLE: Special Education Vocational Training Teachers
DEFINITION: Plan and conduct special education work and study programs or teach vocational skills to handicapped students.
1. Counsels and instructs students in matters such as vocational choices, job readiness, and job retention skills and behaviors.
2. Instructs students in areas such as personal-social skills and work-related attitudes and behaviors.
3. Confers with students, parents, school personnel, and other individuals to plan vocational training that meet needs, interests, and abilities of students.
4. Develops work opportunities that allow students to experience success in performing tasks of increasing difficulty and that teach work values.
5. Confers with potential employers to obtain cooperation, adapting work situations to special needs of students.
