Grinds and polishes optics, using handtools, as required. Measures and tests optics, using precision measuring and testing instruments. May develop specifications and drawings from verbal description. May perform experimental work and research to develop new production methods and procedures applying shop mathematics and knowledge of production techniques. May train and direct other workers.
