    TASKS:

    1. Operates woodworking machines and uses hand tools to cut and shape wooden components of instrument.

    2. Fits and assembles electrical, wooden, and metal parts in instrument.

    3. Fastens components together with screws, nails, or glue, using hand tools or portable power tools.

    4. Measures and marks woodstock to layout wooden parts according to blueprint or specifications.

    5. Sands and scrapes wooden parts to prepare for finishing.

    6. Bends wooden components using steam and clamps.

    7. Fits and glues inlay materials to decorate instrument.

    8. Applies varnish, stain, oil, or lacquer to finish surfaces.

    9. Examines completed instrument for defects.

    10. Tunes instrument to specified pitch.
